John E. Searcy, Jr. is a graduate of the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University Class of 2003. Mr. Searcy joined the firm after working with a large corporate firm based in Alabama as well as a firm known for its expert representation of real estate developers and contractors in East Alabama. Mr. Searcy also served as a clerk to U.S. District Judge W. Keith Watkins, prior to joining Mooty & Associates. Mr. Searcy holds the "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and was selected as "2015 Top Rated Lawyers in Insurance Law."  Due to his background, Mr. Searcy works in several areas within the firm and offers experience in issues with real estate developmet and real estate contractors. Mr. Searcy is licensed to practice in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of the Federal Courts in Alabama.

Mr. Searcy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio as the middle of three children. He graduated high school in Montgomery and went to college at Auburn University. Mr. Searcy graduated from Auburn in 2000 with a B.S. in Economics.
