H. Dean Mooty, Jr., owner and founder of Mooty & Associates, P.C., is a 1983 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. Mr. Mooty has practiced law his entire career in Montgomery, Alabama, having previously been a shareholder in one of Montgomery’s largest business firms. He received his B.S. Degree in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where he also starred on the baseball team after having been named the 1977 Alabama Junior College Baseball Player of the Year at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama. Mr. Mooty grew up in the small West Alabama town of Marion and takes great pride in his Black Belt roots.

Mr. Mooty holds the “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He is widely recognized as an expert in the gasoline and motor fuel industry. In connection with his work in this industry, Mr. Mooty has an extensive environmental litigation practice as well as a general civil litigation practice involving areas of employment law, products liability, anti-trust and general insurance defense. As a part of his 35-year involvement in the gasoline and motor fuel industry, Mr. Mooty serves a general counsel-type role for many such wholesale and retail distributors and marketers in that industry handling all aspects of their businesses.
